Joseph Melvin Ewing, 81 of Lebanon passed away at 7:47 p.m. Sunday, December 17th, 2017 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville with his wife and four children by his side.
Melvin was born September 28, 1936 in Marion County. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clarence Ewing and Lucy Bradshaw, a daughter Lisa Ann Ewing, a granddaughter, Amy Jo Mattingly, four brothers, Clarence Jr, John Irvin, Francis Gerald and Francis Otho Ewing. Two sisters, Lucy Ann Ewing and Dorothy Ewing Buckler.
He had worked as owner/operator of Ewing Auto Sales for many years. He was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Jeneva (Marlin) Ewing; Four children: Glenda Luckett of Lawrenceburg Kentucky, Lucy Ann (Jim) Vanover Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, Joseph Melvin “Joe” Ewing of Harrodsburg Kentucky, and Martha Lynn Jeffries of London Ky. Two Brothers, Billy Ewing of Louisville, Glen (Pat) Ewing of Georgetown; two sisters: Carol Craven of Louisville and Betsy Lou Mattingly of Lebanon. Eight grandchildren, and thirteen greatgrandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20th at Campbell-Fisher Funeral Home
Funeral Mass will be conducted on December 21st 2017 at 11:00am at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were: Dylan Ensor, Austin Hunt, Isaac Mattingly, Jeremy Hawkins, Blake Jeffries, Kerry Hawkins and Kyle Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Craig Jeffrries, Travis Hunt, Troy Marlin, Toby Marlin, Jim Vanover, Joe Benningfield, Todd Marlin, Will Hunt, Tyler Hunt, Zach Hunt and Eli Thomas.
